Translating Business Objectives into Reality
Synopsis: The new pier A-Plus at Frankfurt Airport raises the passenger capacity by 10% to about 65 million passengers/year. A-Plus provides seven docking stands for long-haul aircraft (including four two-level boarding positions) or up to three long-haul and eight short-haul aircraft. The complexity of this pier enables up to 18 flight operations simultaneously. The presentation contains an overview of how to manage a project, maintaining the ongoing operations at neighbouring terminals and the apron, and will include the steps to becoming operational (terminal facilities, functional tests, trail operations). Challenges, bugs, interfaces with operational departments and handling ambitious project schedules will be presented.
