Giovanni Russo, Head Planning & Engineering, Zurich Airport, Switzerland

Speaker Biograghy: Giovanni began his career as an Air Traffic Controller at the Air Force, as well as with the civil air navigation service provider. After 10 years he moved to several management positions with the air navigation service provider, before joining Zurich Airport Ltd – the airport owner and operator – as Head Planning & Engineering. His responsibilities include the implementation of the Schengen Treaty in 2008, the A380 certification in 2010, the implementation of the first RNP approach in Switzerland in 2010, the implementation of centralised security and the new pier B in 2011, and several stand expansion projects and technological upgrades within the passenger process. Giovanni represents the SESAR airport consortium SEAC on the SESAR Administrative Board, and ACI-Europe at the Network Director Operations Meeting at Eurocontrol.
