Speaker Biograghy: Rosi is a licensed architect and a LEED accredited professional with 27 years of experience, primarily in the retail division of the aviation industry. Her wealth of knowledge and strong retail design background have proved an asset to TranSystems’s aviation business. As the Retail Design Team’s leader, Rosi has supported the completion of more than 600 retail outlets in 65 airports across the United States and Canada, with a construction value totalling nearly $250 million.

Synopsis: Pop-up shops are all the rage in retail, from clothing stores to taco stands. Ms Stern will focus on the airport/landlord perspective, Ms Rawson on the retailer's perspective. How can we leverage the energy and spontaneity of this flash retailing into the airport? Through an extensive survey of current pop-ups around the globe, we will demonstrate how public and private spaces can be made adaptable and flexible to include fashionable goods, dining and entertainment while showcasing good design, art and architecture within the airport environment. A case study will be presented.
