09:05 - 09:35 - Mega-aviation cities: leveraging pioneer experiences to build for success
Synopsis: Beyond the airport city concept, mega-aviation cities are now emerging. New Istanbul Airport, Dubai World Central, Denver International and Incheon Airport are becoming global aviation service centres and secondary urban centres within their megalopolis. Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Miami and others are following the same ambition. Based on the example of pioneer airports, this presentation outlines the challenges ahead for airports aiming to become mega-aviation cities, and the way forward to overcome them. It also shows key success factors to create huge value and mitigate risks of those multi-billion projects that might change the face of a city or an entire country.
