Speaker Biograghy:
Steve Wareham, A.A.E. is a Vice President at Trillion Aviation. Founded in 2006, Trillion specialises in providing business strategy, consulting and air service development to airport clients.
Steve was previously the Director of MSP Operations at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP), the largest of seven airports owned and operated by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC). Before joining the MAC in 1998 Steve worked for Metropolitan Council's Environmental Services as the Manager of Operations at the Metropolitan Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Steve holds a BA in Social Work and History, and a Master’s in Organizational Leadership, both earned at Bethel University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

- Impacts of ageing travellers on airports
Synopsis: The number of elderly travellers is increasing, challenging airports and airlines to respond to the physical and psychological needs of this important demographic. A broad understanding of the current impact of ageing travellers on airports and what is being done to accommodate them was the topic of a research project commissioned by the Transportation Research Board, Airport Cooperative Research Program. The results are significant.
Audience will learn:
- The population over 65 will go from 13-19% in the US population by 2030 – airports beware!
- There are a variety of problems and issues associated with this demographic shift
- A new industry focus is needed to address this very predictable trend
- The normal effects of ageing impact one's mobility and ability to adapt to a challenging environment
- Work is needed in the areas of wayfinding, addressing fatigue, technology and equipment as well as individual ammenties
