Yngvar Sundsfjord, Chief Project Manager, COWI, Norway

Speaker Biograghy: Yngvar joined COWI as Chief Project Manager in May 2009 with focus on passenger and baggage processing at airports and supporting IT infrastructure. Currently he is working on the new terminal buildings in Bergen and Oslo, Norway. Before joining COWI he spent five years with IATA in Geneva, where he was responsible for development of EDI and XML standards to support different aviation industry processes such as ET, EMD, AIDX, SIDX, TypeX, SSIM, BCBP, AHM etc. Yngvar is also recognised by the airline industry as one of the key players in IATA’s Simplifying the Business drives for electronic ticketing, as subject matter expert and StB ET Account Manager for North East Asia (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mongolia), CIS countries and Russia. Before joining IATA, he spent 25 years in the airline industry at Scandinavian Airlines and Scandinavian IT Group in Norway and Denmark.

12:50 - 13:20 - Automated common-use bag drop implementation – the experience gained
Synopsis: The presentation will discuss the successful implementation of a fully automated common-use bag drop system. It will focus on customer experience backed up with statistical data including self tagging from CUSS automates, and benefits gained by airports, ground handlers and airlines. How were the 'what if' questions solved? There will also be discussion of high-level design and the roadmap forward to the fully automated common-use airport environment.
