Birmingham Airport

Speaker Biograghy: Having worked at Birmingham Airport for over 22 years, Joanne has seen many changes, both in her own role and the industry as a whole. Working as part of a small department means devising innovative solutions to deliver quality IS services to the organisation and other 3rd parties on-site. In her latest role working with the Head of IS, she determines the strategic direction of the IS Department. Her team supports the airport’s operational systems as well as managing the interface with the numerous 3rd party organisations. She also delivers the technical infrastructure across the multi-company site. With key responsibility for information security, she is currently leading a project looking at opportunities for improving cyber and information security, using the ISO 27001 framework as best practice. She represents the Airport at a number of industry led forums.

Many of these systems have numerous security and management layers, and the airport company has worked closely with several companies on-site to obtain a full overview of the systems identified.
