Speaker Biograghy: Mrs Danielle de Sá Quirino Costa, Airport Construction Planning Manager , INFRAERO Brazilian Airports, Brazil Danielle Costa has a degree in Civil Engineering and Bachelor in Law, besides Master in Geotechnical Engineer. She joined INFRAERO since 2003 and started her career as Civil Engineer at Airports Maintenance Departament. After four years working at contracts area, performing the management of contracts held in 67 airports and preliminary analysis in the hiring process, Danielle was invited to support the Aiports Operations Director. In 2009, she joined at Engineer department where first set up as construction management department and later working as Planning Airports Construction, dealing with strategic and comprehensive technical issues within the airports infrastructure and acting in the planning of new ventures and monitoring the budget constructions already contracted.

Synopsis: The Brazilian Government has been implementing actions to align its airports infrastructure, aiming to enable all airports to meet current demand and increase the growing demand. However, the extensive country area and the varied locations of economic, distant clusters impose the need for efficient management of airport construction. Construction at the 63 airports currently managed by Infraero need monitoring within a central control project management practice. The presentation will identify the most successful case, new Goiania Airport Passenger Terminal, where the progress of construction is frequently monitored by project management tools.
