Hesham Saeed, HTC Duty Manager, PPMDC, Saudi Arabia

Speaker Biograghy: Hesham works for the Ports Projects Management & Development Company (PPMDC) as one of three Terminal Duty Managers in charge of operations at the Jeddah Hajj terminal, the only terminal in the world with unique and specific operation. The terminal is also unique for its terminal layout modification depending on the arrival or departure process. Prior roles at PPMDC include Resources Allocation Controller, Terminal & Plaza Supervisor and Terminal Duty Manger. He has also worked for Saudi Airlines as a Production Analysis Engineer. He is PPMDC’s Quality Management Representative, and is responsible for setting the company’s SOP. He also participates in setting the annual operation plans. Hesham has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from King Abdulaziz University (KSA). He is a certified associate engineer on the Saudi Engineering Council, and a certified lead quality auditor (ISO9001:2008).

15:05 - 15:30 - Terminal Hajj operation in Jeddah, KSA
Synopsis: In 2005, the Saudi authorities decided to improve the Hajj Terminal facilities of King Abdulaziz International Airport, in Jeddah, KSA, in order to increase the level of service offered to Hajj and Umrah pilgrims. Since 2007, the Ports Projects Management & Development Company has operated the Hajj Terminal on behalf of the General Authority of Civil Aviation together with Aéroports de Paris Management. The purpose of this presentation is to introduce the unique and very specific Terminal Hajj Operation which, thanks to the excellent cooperation with and from all government bodies, appears to be a successful public-private partnership in airport operation.
