Day 1 - 10 March
Session:
Management & Operations
10:00 - 10:25
- Expanding the situational awareness horizon in operations
Synopsis: Following this presentation you will understand why pre-tactical information is essential for airport collaborative decision making (A-CDM). Expanding the situational awareness horizon with such pre-tactical information enables airport operations to evolve from crisis experts, responding to 'what's out of the window' to experts 'managing predicted problems'. Based on case studies and experience gained with airports developing and using such technology, you will understand the difference such tools make, what you gain by using such tools and how and where this improves your handling and situational awareness.
Audience will learn:
- Case study based on solutions in operation at airports including Dusseldorf (DUS) and Zurich (ZRH)
- Expanding the situational awareness horizon in operations
- Change from reacting to the situation to proactive management
- Impact on 'green' operations, delay management and avoidance and A-CDM
- The most important cost savings and who are the beneficiaries
