Dr Nick Koudas, CEO, Aislelabs Inc, Canada

Speaker Biograghy: Dr Nick Koudas is the co-founder and CEO of Aislelabs, a technology company offering a software platform for airport operational analytics and passenger experience. The platform analyses footfall traffic inside the airport, correlating it with information from flights, baggage, weather, etc., and delivers a real-time operational dashboard for the entire airport. The information is used to understand the source of delays, schedule personnel and optimise retail performance among many other things. Aislelabs also delivers advanced wayfinding solutions utilising passengers' mobile phones to improve their journeys. In the past he was CEO and co-founder of Sysomos, a social analytics technology company. Dr Koudas holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.

Synopsis: We will present an overview, key findings, learnings and successes deploying a platform for operational analytics at the GTAA over the last year. We will provide details on the information we collect and display in real time, associating passenger flow in airport with flight status, highlight its predictive power, present operational insights achieved and, time permitting, show some live examples. In terms of retail optimisation, we will detail how the platform uncovers optimisations in passenger flow at various checkpoints that, when implemented, are capable of increasing passenger spend and airport retail revenue by very large factors.
