Speaker Biograghy:
Since joining the company in 1993, Hiroki has gained experience in airport airside operation, finance, regional coordination, secretary, retail management and commercial marketing, especially for duty/tax-free shops. Since April 2013 he has been in charge of international relations and business development. When he was in the Retail Management & Commercial Marketing Department, he was in charge of a large-scale expansion project for the duty/tax-free area, and promoted a direct management project for duty-free shops. Finally, he was successful in starting duty/tax-free shops operation under direct management by our affiliated company, Kansai Airport Agency, from April 2013.

- Drastic challenge for KIX – striving towards acquisition of more customers
Synopsis: Airport managers face diverse demands from FSCs and LCCs. At KIX, in addition to the flagship T1, LCC-dedicated T2 (LCCT) was opened in 2012 and expansion of LCCT is under way. Following this trend, our airport has renovated the duty/tax-free area based on environmental changes surrounding the airport and diversification of customer needs. In this presentation, three initiatives will be introduced: initiative in T1, initiative in T2 and initiative for future projects. In addition, the history of our renovation of the duty/tax-free area will be presented.
