Eric Kaler, Director of Security, Hawaiian Airlines, USA

Speaker Biograghy: Eric is currently the Director of Security at Hawaiian Airlines, in charge of security policy and operations, facilitation and emergency response. He is the primary liaison with law enforcement globally. Most recently, Eric has been a driving force behind the evolution of aviation security towards risk-based, data-driven security strategies. Hawaiian Airlines is an industry leader in using advanced platforms to capture and analyse data from government immigration and intelligence systems for application to aviation security. This automation is used to provide actionable data to front-line personnel. Eric is a 25-year veteran of the aviation industry, and his interest in these areas stems from experiences early in his career as a volunteer first responder for Pan Am 103 and Avianca 52. The 2002 bombings by AQ/ASG/JI in Bali, Indonesia were the catalyst that shifted the focus of his aviation career to security.
