Speaker Biograghy: Neil has over 17 years' professional industry experience, having held a range of positions across a variety of high-technology industry sectors including pharmaceutical, micro electronic and aviation, both at home and abroad. Neil’s professional background covers the full spectrum of large-scale project lifecycles, from project feasibility, detailed design, tendering and procurement, to construction management, commissioning, handover and managing sustaining operations. Neil is currently Terminals Asset Care Manager across two terminal facilities within the Dublin Airport campus, a stewardship of over 230,000m2 of real estate catering for an annual throughput of 25m passengers and a net book value of €1.5bn. Core areas of responsibility include: operational availability and maintenance of baggage, life safety, passenger sensitive, building services, architecture and airport specialist systems; embedding a high-performance health and safety, continuous-improvement and energy-awareness culture; developing and implementing energy and utility reduction targets, strategies and initiatives.

11:00 - 11:30 - How good design saved us money
Synopsis: The presentation concerns the design for Dublin T2 and the goal to deliver highly efficient and flexible building services systems. It will address design drivers and solutions selected, metering systems introduced and the data and learning resulting from this, and how DAA has customised and refined the controls to drive down energy consumption by 6% year on year and, in addition, the virtuous benefits associated with optimised lifecycle costs.
