Speaker Biograghy: Dave has 35 years' public and private sector experience in planning, design and construction at over 70 medium and large-hub airport terminals worldwide. He has written over 100 articles and made presentations at industry events on various aspects of airport development. He has been a regular speaker at Passenger Terminal EXPO since 2002. As a member of the American Institute of Architects, he was elected to the College of Fellows FAIA, and is a Past President of AIA Northwest Washington, and a Past Board Member of AIA Washington Council. He is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives. He is a member of steering committees for the Airport Terminal and Ground Access Committee of the Transportation Research Board, and the Operations and Technical Affairs Committee of Airports Council International - North America.

Synopsis: Seattle Airport is at a crossroads, facing extraordinary growth and the need to create a development vision based on sustainability principles reflecting its corporate culture. This presentation will focus on an innovative approach to integrating sustainability into an airport masterplanning process – the first of its kind in the United States. The approach to integrating sustainability is divided into three steps: 1) What and where the airport builds on limited land area; 2) How the airport builds a recommended alternative for development; 3) How the airport operates and manages a sustainability management plan.
