Synopsis: How do you cope with increased volume of baggage requiring manual handling and storage in the baggage reclaim area, when expansion is not possible? How do you avoid baggage overflow, taking up space required for passengers and commercial activities, without increasing the costs of operation? By teaming up with ground handlers and through detailed data and process analysis, Copenhagen Airports was able to identify and implement solutions to improve process efficiency, capacity utilisation and passenger satisfaction in baggage reclaim, while reducing the total costs of operation.
