Day 3 - 17 March
Session:
Aviation & Border Security, Control & Facilitation
09:05 - 09:30
- Changing security measures and their influence on terminal infrastructure
Synopsis: Changes in security regulations are a constant challenge for airport planners and operations managers. Additional security measures and new, increasingly sophisticated technologies have to be integrated into the existing checkpoints and terminal infrastructure.
Audience will learn:
- Increases in security measures are a constant challenge for processes and terminal infrastructure
- One of the biggest changes was the implementation of critical parts of SRA. Many adaptations followed
- Limitation of space within our mostly old terminal infrastructure seems to be the biggest challenge
- Building new infrastructure is normally not a realistic option for most airports, especially when aviation security is not under the airport's responsibility
- Frankfurt Airport is trying to cope with the problems by introducing many small measures that help improve the situation.
