10:25 - 10:50 - One year on: results of Time Based Separation at LHR
Synopsis: TBS is a new approach to arrival spacing that calculates aircraft separation by time instead of the traditional distance to deliver considerable reductions in delays and an increase in airport and runway resilience. Intelligent Approach has delivered TBS to Heathrow with outstanding results. In November alone over 25,000 minutes of delay were saved, and overall TBS is delivering an average of 1.2 additional landings per hour. TBS is being mandated within some EU airports by SESAR as part of the European Air Traffic Management Master Plan.
