Speaker Biograghy: Bert has worked at Fraunhofer ICT since 2011 in the field of additive flame retardants research. He joined JTI Clean Sky in 2012 and became demonstrator leader for the Green PUR seating cushion in 2013. He is responsible for the hybrid seating structure in JTI Clean Sky 2.

Synopsis: The seating in aircraft and airports is very important for passenger comfort. Although the structure can be used over many years, the cushions and coverings need to be replaced every four to five years. Therefore the mostly PUR-based cushions become a large waste stream over the lifetime of the aircraft or airport.
