Airport Research Center GmbH

Speaker Biograghy: Sabrina studied Industrial Engineering for Logistics at the University of Magdeburg in Germany. During her studies she developed a modular algorithm for the dimensioning of passenger facilities for Fraport AG of Frankfurt Airport. Now she works as a Consultant Engineer at the Airport Research Center in Aachen. Sabrina has performed various simulation projects regarding capacity planning, level of service analysis or process optimisation at different international airports including Dubai, CuraƧao and Cologne/Bonn. Additionally she organises and executes CAST Terminal training for beginners as well as advanced users. She was in charge of the simulation study for EURO 2016 at Bordeaux Airport.

Day 1 - 14 March
Session:
Management & Operations

12:30 - 13:00 - Planning capacity-critical operations through fast time simulations at regional airports
Synopsis: Regional airports can face significant capacity issues when external events like several matches of the Euro 2016 football championship are planned to take place near the airport, bringing additional flights and passenger flows on an ad-hoc basis. Together with a regional airport and with Airport Research Centre, Eurocontrol has supported the planning of such events through fast time simulations based on a detailed calibrated landside and airside airport model of the airport. This activity aimed at testing the accuracy of predictions made through fast time simulations in the APOC context.
