Speaker Biograghy: Yves Duguay is the Senior Vice-President of Operations and Customer Experience for the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, where he is accountable for passenger, non-passenger and hold-baggage security screening at Canada’s 89 designated airports, as well as the management of CATSA’s screening contracts and personnel. He leads the service aspect of CATSA’s mandate to improve the overall passenger experience by providing the highest levels of customer service. Prior to joining CATSA in September 2007, Yves served as Senior Director of Corporate Security and Risk Assessment for Air Canada, where he was responsible for the company’s security portfolio. He began his career in security as a serving member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). During his tenure with the RCMP he moved through a number of management positions including leading the National Program to Combat Money Laundering as well the Quebec Public Affairs and Communications Directorate.

Synopsis: .The roadmap for the checkpoint of the future .An international proposal – but does it differ among countries? .Will the various national criteria for screening be acceptable to all nations? (How do we promote data sharing, data exchange and data acceptability?) .How are the 'permissions' for the three lanes determined? .How might airline-based programmes be used to differentiate (FF miles, Red Carpet Club, etc.)? (Known Traveler and Behavioral Analysis – the evolution has already begun.) .How will changing technology affect checkpoint design? .What about manpower requirements – different countries screen differently? (How will future configurations affect resources?) .How is throughput 'balanced' when any one of the lanes is over- or under-utilised?

From the NEXUS pre-qualified traveller lanes and the new wait-time displays for passengers travelling through major Canadian airports, to the new security screening contracts recently launched at 89 airports, CATSA has a number of tools and services designed to ensure a more consistent national approach for airport security screening and to “secure a great passenger experience – one passenger at a time – in collaboration with partners”.
